Put registration on our own website

For organization admins, and the organizer of the event. You need to be able to edit a page of your website, in WordPress, Squarespace, Wix or another website builder.

Steps

  1. In atduty: open Allowed websites. Under Add a website, type your website's address, such as https://www.example.org, and choose Add website. An embed loads only on a website listed here.
  2. In atduty: open the event's settings, then its Sharing section. Under Embed on your website, choose how to place it: Script (recommended), Plain iframe or Button.
  3. In atduty: choose Copy snippet.
  4. In your website builder: add a block that takes HTML to the page, and paste the snippet into it. In WordPress it is a Custom HTML block; in Squarespace, a Code block. On Wix, follow step 6 instead.
  5. In your website builder: publish the page, and open it as a visitor would. The registration form shows there once the event is published.
  6. On Wix: the form cannot show inside a Wix page, because Wix runs pasted HTML in a frame of its own and the form refuses to load inside another site's frame. Put a button there that opens the event's page instead. Open the event's public page and copy its address from your browser. In the Wix Editor, add a button (Add Elements, then Button), click its Link icon, choose Web address, paste the address, choose to open it in a new window, and choose Done.

If it doesn't work

  • The form does not show: check that the address in Allowed websites is exactly the one your page opens at, including https and www. On Wix, the form never shows: use a button (step 6).
  • Your website builder removes the script: choose Plain iframe instead and paste that. If your plan allows neither a script nor an iframe (Squarespace and WordPress.com allow them only on some paid plans), choose Button: a plain link to the event's page.
  • The embed shows a short message instead of the form: the event's Take registrations through embeds is off, or registration has closed.
