Connect our bank so people can pay by card

For organization admins. You need your organization's legal name, address and tax number, a bank account in its name, and the identity details of the person responsible for it. Stripe asks for these on its own pages; atduty never sees them.

Steps

  1. In atduty: open Payments. Under Card payments, choose your country in Country of your organization, then choose Connect Stripe.
  2. In Stripe: Stripe sets up a new account for your organization. If you already have a Stripe account, sign in when Stripe offers, and it can copy that account's details instead of asking again. Stripe asks what kind of organization it is, its address and tax number, and who is responsible for it.
  3. In Stripe: add the bank account payouts go to. Stripe sets the name people see on their card statement from your organization's name, or asks you for one. Use a name families will recognize, such as your organization's short name; you can change it later in your Stripe dashboard.
  4. In Stripe: finish. Stripe sends you back to atduty, which finishes the connection.
  5. In atduty: Card payments now says when it was connected. Card payments go straight to your Stripe account; atduty never holds the money.
  6. In atduty: to charge for an event, open the event's Payment page, set How people pay to Card, and give it a price.

If it doesn't work

  • “Connected, but the account cannot take payments yet. Finish its setup in Stripe.” Stripe still needs something, often an identity document or a bank detail. Choose Continue setup on Stripe and finish what Stripe lists.
  • “The connection was not completed. You can start again.” You left Stripe before the end. Choose Connect Stripe again.
  • “Card payments are not set up on this server yet.” Card payments are not switched on for this service yet. Until they are, you can still take cash, checks and bank transfers under Cash, check and bank transfer.
  • Payouts to your bank, and their dates, are in your Stripe dashboard, not in atduty.
